Signs Your Device Needs a Closer Look

Not every fault is dramatic. Some machines fail loudly; others just get slower and slower until one day they don’t turn on at all. A few patterns we see often:

  • The device powers on but freezes within minutes of use
  • A display that’s cracked, dim, or showing lines, which usually points to a computer monitor repair
  • Fans running constantly or the casing feeling warm even at idle
  • Water or coffee spilled near the keyboard, followed by odd behavior days later
  • Files taking noticeably longer to open than they used to
  • A charging port that only works if the cable is angled a certain way

Some of the above are quick fixes. A battery swap, for instance, can be done in under an hour once the part is on hand. Anyone can walk into a computer repair shop and get quoted on the spot for issues like these, though the quote is only as good as the diagnosis behind it.

When the Fault Sits Inside the Board

Not everything shows up on the surface. A laptop that won’t power on at all, or shuts off randomly with no clear trigger, often has a fault on the board itself rather than in a cable or a battery. Fixing that properly means a computer motherboard repair, and it isn’t something we hand to a junior on their first week. Our technicians train specifically on this work because a wrong solder joint can turn a fixable board into scrap.

Here’s roughly what the computer repair process looks like from your end, and it’s the same regardless of how minor or major the job is:

  • Bring the device to our outlet near Marymount MRT, or book a free pickup
  • We run diagnostics first and confirm the cause before quoting a price
  • You approve (or don’t) before anything is opened up or replaced
  • Every completed repair comes with a minimum 30-day warranty
  • Collect it yourself, or have it delivered back to your address

We’ve built our computer repair and service around that sequence because skipping the diagnosis step is how repairs go wrong twice instead of once.

Ready When You Are

There are plenty of repair counters scattered across the island, and price alone won’t tell you much about which one to trust. What tends to matter more is whether a shop diagnoses before repairing, whether parts are genuine, and whether the warranty holds up if the fault returns. Our first-fix rate sits at 95%, tracked across roughly 50,000 devices repaired to date, and it’s a large part of why we’re one of the options for a computer repair shop Singapore residents keep coming back to. If your device needs looking at, drop it off at our Marymount outlet or book a free pickup, and we’ll have a diagnosis and quote ready before anything is touched.

FAQ

1. How long does a repair usually take?

Battery and keyboard swaps are often same-day. A motherboard-level repair can take one to three weeks depending on parts.

2. Do you collect and deliver devices?

Yes, free pickup and delivery is available across Singapore, so a visit in person isn’t required.

3. Is there a warranty once the repair is done?

Every job carries a minimum 30-day warranty regardless of what was fixed.

4. Which brands can you work on?

Most major laptop and desktop brands sold here, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Apple.

5. What should I do if liquid got inside my computer?

Switch it off and bring it in quickly. Corrosion sets in fast, and early cleaning gives it a real chance of recovery.
